GETTING THERE...
Once I have found a location with an interesting subject to photograph I work out...
- If it's a long exposure shoot - check tide times
- If it's a sun rise shoot - check the Photographer's Ephemeris for the Civil start time and Sun direction
- Getting there
- Access issues
- Parking
- Do I need a bike
When I started
using my bike to get some locations that we're just too far to walk, I
had the problem of attaching my Tripod to my bike, I tried many
different options that all seemed to fail once I rode over rough
ground.
I
had the idea of using a drum clamp, it took a while to find a clamp
that was robust enough to carry the weight of an aluminium Tripod, then
after exploring a drum shop web site (Details are below along with a
video) I found what I was looking for.
After
having so much grief before, I wanted something that was quick and easy
to remove and replace, but even better a clamp that splits, one half
stays on the bike and the other stays on the Tripod. The clamp is called
the 'Gibraltar Universal Grabber Clamp'
(Code SC-UGC) it's a solid clamp with maximum adjustability.
When you watch the video start watching from 2mins 40secss to 3min 45secs
